As a growing company, we are expanding our People Operations Team and have an immediate opening for a Human Resources Generalist. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role serves as a trusted partner across all areas of HR. The HR Generalist will provide strategic support to an assigned region, advising on policies and programs related to performance management, training, onboarding, policy development, compensation, employee relations, benefits, and compliance. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the HR Manager and Director of People Operations to implement HR initiatives that support company goals.
  • Support talent strategy efforts, including recruiting, retention, and succession planning, to meet current and future workforce needs.
  • Provide guidance on HR best practices, policy interpretation, compliance, and workplace conduct while handling complex and sensitive employee issues.
  • Collaborates with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and hiring managers to ensure a seamless process.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, process personnel changes, and ensure compliance with company, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including the annual open enrollment process, Workers’ Compensation and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare HR reports, conduct training sessions as needed, and contribute to process improvement initiatives, including policy development.
  • Take on special projects and initiatives as assigned to enhance HR functions and support organizational objectives.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–3 years of experience in HR coordination, recruiting, or employee relations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, solve problems, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality work
  • High level of agility and adaptability to navigate shifting priorities, business needs, and challenges with confidence and composure
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, with a proactive approach to developing solutions
  • A positive, adaptable mindset with a willingness to take on challenges and drive results

 

Pay and Benefits

The Shield Co. Management is proud to offer competitive pay, growth opportunities, and full benefits. 

  • This position offers a salary ranging from $65,000 – $82,000 (depending on experience)
  • Paid sick and vacation time along with 10 company-paid holidays
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options, including a Health Savings Account (HSA).
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage, plus voluntary life insurance.
  • 401(k) with a competitive match: 100% of the first 3% contributed and 50% of the next 2%.
